Brooklyn cool

What a cute apartment... I want to see more!
If ever in need of inspiration Garance Dore's blog is always the perfect pick me up.
Even more enjoyable when listening to Jes Hudak. Loving her song " Different Worlds".

Cute craft

Working at real living magazine I am constantly exposed to lots of inspiring designers and all their different styles.

I am especially drawn to Tamara Maynes. She was recently featured in Inside Out magazine. The article on Tamara and her home in the Southern Highlands automatically grabbed my attention (I can actually picture myself living there). From the hydrangeas in the garden, my all time favourite flower, to her feminine but earthy style and the simplicity of her home – it’s all so inspiring and looks so liveable.

It’s not hard to believe that Tamara is the creative mastermind behind The Six Week Boutique. I have just ordered two of the DIY cross-stitch packs. How clever is she - creating a business out of something she loves.

Will let you know how my cross-stitching turns out. I bought the motorbike (my boyfriend’s pick) and the teapot. So cute!

Country girl

I love this image. The colours, the clothes, the backdrop. Arabella Ramsey, an Australian designer from country Victoria, always gets it right. Her style is a little bit country, very on trend and always feminine… and there is never a lack of checks (I love). How cool are the boots worn throughout? Check out her latest collection here.

Who What Wear wishlist

I love receiving my daily email from Who What Wear.

They have the best celebrity fashion updates, I love their "style stalker" section and my personal fave is “what was she wearing?”

Here is Who What Wear’s compilation of this summer’s fashion essentials. I love the mix of pieces! The skater dress and Panama hat are on my wish list. What a shame it’s winter in Australia (and currently freezing in Sydney).

Be inspired

images Lonny

The deputy editor at real living, Natalie Walton, has the most gorgeous blog. Most days she posts Q and A’s with some of the most talented people in the creative industries.

This is a blog that I check daily (along with Karla’s closet).

Natalie kindly did a post about me on her blog. I do love Michelle Adams' style (she is from Rubie Green/ Lonny)

Make sure you check out Natalie’s inspirational blog, daily imprint, it’s definitely worth a look!

Blog love

The first blog I was addicted to was Karla’s closet. Of course I had come across blogs before, but I hadn’t given them too much of my time (precious study time!). I was always more of a hard copy magazine kinda’ girl.

Karla definitely opened my eyes to ‘the world of blogging’. I couldn’t help but check her blog every day to find out what she was wearing or what cool LA flea market she had just discovered.

In 2008, whilst studying at QUT, I was involved with a website called Frock Paper Scissors. I finally got the chance to meet Karla (via email of course) and interview her for an article. It’s now 2010 and more and more blog lovers turn to Karla for fashion advice every day, I still check it daily for updates on her ever expanding closet. She’s even just designed her own bag for Coach!

Would love to know what you think!

Exploring Sydney

Sticks and Wicks flower market - 247 Devonshire St, Surry Hills

Sydney is full of culture and each suburb has a different feel.
One of my favourite places - and I think it might be because it has a New York vibe- is Surry Hills.
I have to walk through Surry Hills to get to work, or anywhere really, so I spend a lot of my time exploring the leafy streets and finding my new favourite stores.

Last week when I was taking my friend, who was visiting from Brisbane, to the famous Bourke St Bakery we stumbled across Sticks and Wicks.

It is a little flower shop that is magical. It is filled with pretty flowers, colourful pots and clever gifts.

It is worth stepping inside!
